BERLIN — Germany's European 100m sprint champion Verena Sailer is out of next month's world athletics championships in Daegu, South Korea, with a hamstring injury. The 25-year-old will miss the entire athletics season under advice from German sports injury specialist Dr Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wohlfahrt and will sit out the world championships which run from August 26 to September 4."It is damned difficult for me to sit out an entire season, especially in a world championships year," Sailer told the Mannheimer Morgen newspaper."But I'm not a machine and when the body says enough is enough, then is time to rest."If I don't listen to these signals then I risk making the injury worse."Once fully recovered, Sailer, who won the European title by clocking 11.10 secs in Barcelona last year, will begin to prepare for London 2012.
