SANTA ANA, Califoria — A California judge Friday rejected a request to move the trial of a suspected drunken driver accused of killing Los Angeles Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart and two others.Orange Count Superior Court Judge Richard Toohey denied the motion for a change of venue by the team of defendant Andrew Thomas Gallo. The judge said Orange County has millions of residents and a fair jury can be found.Gallo faces three charges of second-degree murder in the deaths of Adenhart and friends Courtney Stewart and Henry Pearson.Police say Gallo's blood-alcohol level was almost three times the legal limit at the time of the April 2009 crash.Gallo is accused of running a red light and slamming into a sports car carrying four people, including the Angels pitcher.Stewart, 20, and Pearson 25, died at the scene. Adenhart, 22, died in surgery at a local hospital. A fourth person in the car was also injured.Police alleged that Gallo fled the scene and was apprehended about a half-hour later.Hours before the crash, Adenhart started a home game in Anaheim and pitched six scoreless innings against the Oakland Athletics.
