TOKYO — US socialite Paris Hilton left Japan for the United States on Wednesday after being denied entry over a conviction for cocaine possession in a Las Vegas court this week.The 29-year-old had spent hours talking with Japanese immigration officials late Tuesday and again on Wednesday morning before she dropped her request for entry, the Kyodo News agency and other media reported.Airport officials confirmed that her private plane had left.The hotel empire heiress had flown into Tokyo's Narita Airport from Las Vegas on Tuesday for a promotional event, a day after pleading guilty to cocaine charges for which she received a suspended jail sentence.Hilton, who was planning to kick off an Asia tour in Japan, had been due to appear at a Tokyo news conference to promote her fashion and accessory lines, together with her sister Nicky, 26.TV pictures showed her in a blue tracksuit, a baseball cap and sunglasses as she headed for the exit, telling journalists: "I am going back home. I'm looking forward to coming back to Japan in the future. I love everyone."She also told her followers on microblogging website Twitter: "About to take off. So disappointed to miss my fans in Asia. I promise to come back soon. I love you all! Love Paris xoxo"Immigration officials in Japan, a country with a zero-tolerance policy to illegal drugs, had questioned her for hours after her arrival Tuesday before allowing her to stay in a hotel inside the airport overnight.She was not allowed to stay at the Hilton hotel -- the chain founded by her great-grandfather Conrad Hilton -- in the nearby town of Narita, five kilometres (three miles) from the airport, news reports said.Hilton shot to fame in 2003 when her former boyfriend leaked a video of their sexual escapades on the Internet.
